Due to success and growth, Powell & Co is seeking to bolster their clinical negligence team and as a result an opportunity has arisen for a legal professional to provide support and assistance to the clinical negligence department.
The clinical negligence team currently consists of a secretary, trainee solicitor and 5 qualified solicitors. There is an interesting mixture of work including orthopaedic, delayed diagnosis of cancer, surgical and serious brain and spinal injury claims.
The legal assistant/support role will be a full-time position based at Powell & Co’s office in Woolwich Arsenal. The salary will be competitive and there are opportunities to progress for the right candidate.
Powell & Co is looking for a motivated, self-starting legal professional, preferably with legal experience.
The role will include filing, scanning, photocopying, general administration, overflow typing, covering reception, basic claim work (such as updating bundles and requesting medical records) and any other duties as required to provide support to the clinical negligence team.
This role would suit a graduate, preferably with some legal experience, who has obtained a legal qualification (such as LPC or CILEx) or is intending to do so in the future.
This role would suit someone that is interested in progressing from an administrative role with a view to undertaking more casework in the future.
The suitable candidate will have a proactive and professional attitude as well as excellent interpersonal skills. The role would suit someone with some legal knowledge who is computer literate and has an excellent command of English spelling, punctuation and grammar.
